NARFE membership is open to civilians who are eligible or will become eligible to receive a Federal annuity or survivor annuity from the federal government included current Federal employees, retirees, former employees, spouses and surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE. NARFE is the sole organization devoted exclusively to protecting your present and future retirement benefits. |

WHAT IS NARFE? |
| The National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) is an organization committed to preserving federal retirement benefits for all civilian employees, retirees and survivors by uniting those who dedicated their careers to their nation through federal service. |

WHAT DO I GET THROUGH MY MEMBERSHIP IN NARFE? |
| 1. A national professional staff to protect
my benefits. 2. A local chapter whose officers are available to assist in time of need. Local meetings for networking and fellowship and discussion of items of interest. 3. Local newsletter as well as a national magazine that keeps members current on issues related to their special interests. 4. Assistance both locally and nationally with individual problems such as pre retirement counseling, health insurance and annuity issues. 5. A State Federation with a program intermediate between local and national concerns and to deal with state issues such as state taxes. 6. Election of delegates to represent you who will vote for NARFE leadership and goals. |

Chapter 443 meets on the second Saturday of each month (exception is October, when it is the first Saturday) starting at 9:30 AM for refreshments and then at 10:00 AM our meeting starts. We meet at the Senior Center auditorium at 2200 Drake Avenue in Huntsville, Alabama.. All members, spouses and guests are invited to attend.
Meetings accomplished and planned for 2007.
January 13 - Dean Morgan, District Vice President,
spoke about the results of the NARFE National Convention held in September 2006.
Also, Ernest Williams, our Chapter Service Office, spoke about changes to the
Federal income taxes for 2006. At this meeting,
members approved an increase in Chapter dues making the annual Chapter dues
$7.00 effective April 1, 2007.
February 10 - John Johnston, writer for Old Huntsville magazine, provided an
interesting talk about "How Huntsville Used To Be"
March 10 - TV Channel 31 weatherman, Brad Huffins, presented a talk about TV
weather forecasting and answered questions about the weather.
April 14 - Chapter 443 Public Relations Officer, Guy McAllister, presented a
talk on "HDTV - Answers and Many Questions"
May 12 - Program will be provided by Mr. Bob Harrell, NARFE Region III
National Vice President.
June 9 - Program will be presented by Mrs. Diane Brennan. She is with
Madison Drugs and will talk about wellness, mental/physical health and
alternative medicine.
July 14 - Program will be presented by Dr. L. Robey, Madison County
Health Office.
Aug 11 - Sue Schmitz, Alabama State Legislator
Sep 8 - Laura Jo Hamilton, Madison County Circuit Court Judge
Oct 13 - Chapter Membership Meeting: Prospective NARFE members will be
invited to a complimentary luncheon, Chapter Officers will present information
about NARFE and prospects will be asked to join NARFE.
Nov 10 - Program will be presented by Mr. Chris Alexander, BC/BS

Dec 8 - Chapter 443 Annual Christmas Party

August 12 - Program will be presented by Ms. Mary Lou Kratz, Director of the
Huntsville Alzeimer's Association.
October 14 - Breakfast at 9 a. m. - The Program will be presented by a
representative from a local HOSPICE organization
November 4 - Blue Cross/Blue Shield Representative
November 11 - Chapter Participation in the Annual Veteran's Day Parade
December 9 - Annual Christmas Party
